Founded by David Alberto Herrera in El Monte, California, Velantara was born from a desire to declutter our visual environment. In the bustling creative hub of Los Angeles, we are constantly bombarded by digital notifications and flashing numbers. We wanted to create a space for silence.

The name "Velantara" is a fusion of "Vela" (constellation/sail) and "Antara" (space/interval). It represents the space between seconds—the quiet moments that matter most. We design non-numeric clocks because we believe time is best understood intuitively, not just mathematically.

Why is a design studio from California dedicated to serving New Zealand?
